Martin Stocks is a Commercial Pilot, CAA Approved Flight Examiner (FE) and Flight Instructor (FI) who is also Head of Training at Full Sutton Flying Centre.
Martin has instructed scores of pilots over the years with some students having been inspired to pursue a career in the airlines or the military, whilst other students have elected to use their flying for business or pleasure.
Martin can instruct for the LAPL, PPL, SEP(A), IR(R)/IMC and the Night Qualification
As a CAA approved Flight Examiner Martin can perform Initial Skill Tests for PPL, LAPL or IR(R)/IMC and can instruct and perform proficiency checks on expired SEP or IRR(A)/IMC or PPL or LAPL. Expired ratings are a speciality.
As CAA approved Ground Examiner Martin can also teach and conduct examinations for all the theoretical exams for the PPL, LAPL or IR(R). His aim is to ensure students pass their exams first time by teaching the theory thoroughly before taking the exam.
Martin’s background was in further and higher education being employed both as a lecturer and in university management as well as a flight instructor across the region with ATO and DTO providers.
He likes to see his students’ progress their knowledge, skills and attitudes.

Grahame is a former military pilot with over 3,000 hours flying experience and an involvement of more than 35 years in civilian and military aviation.
Grahame joined the Full Sutton team of instructors early 2020 and is delighted to have done so. “Full Sutton is friendly flying club with a welcoming ethos especially towards new pilots joining for recreational reasons or starting out on a professional career in aviation”.
As well as being able to instruct towards a day VFR licence Grahame is also a night flying instructor giving all pilots without the qualification the ability to add the night rating to their licences with 5 hours of instruction, he is also one of Full Sutton’s CAA Ground School Examiners, GR(A), for the PPL and LAPL qualifying exams. Grahame also holds the authority to examine the CAA Radio Telephony exam.
